All components of the binocular vision can be optimized.The TrainYour Eyes test tests all the binocular vision components thoroughly. Then, if available, an individual training program is calculated and carried out.

How accurate is the estimation of distance?
Is the overview large and sure?
Are the endurance and the concentration at their peak?
Is the visual power optimal?
Is the sight the cause of repeating the same mistakes over and over again?

The estimation of distance
Is tested using stereopsis test, convergence nearpoint test, motility test, cover test, space-board test, fixation test and phoroptor test
Depth vision
If the depth vision is not optimal,the estimation of distance will be reduced

The tendency to estimate too short /far
If an athlete estimates eg. too short, he will have a tendency to react too quickly.
A ball player will get to the ball too quickly and hand it over too soft.If he aims too far, he, conversely,will be too slow and have the tendency to shoot the ball too hard.
For a goalkeeper, it is very important not to react too quickly and thereby go forwards too fast and let the goal be "open".
A badminton / tennis / table tennis player will, in addition to the above ,have difficulty in determining, whether a ball is out or inside.
A golfer would not be able to judge the distance to the hole correctly in the putting situation.

The tendency of diplopia in different visual directions
If the athlete has double vision,for example,while looking upwards to the left, it is difficult to evaluate a moving target in this particular look direction. The athlete with this problem will find it difficult to receive a ball in a particular look direction - usually oblique.

The control of eye movements
If eye movements are not fully co-ordinated, it will cause problems in evaluating any ball in the visual directions, in which the eyes do not coverge to the same point.

The ability to manage eyes fixation
For all athletes,who want to follow a moving target, it is important, that the eyes are capable of this. If the athlete cannot control his fixation- eye rotation, it will be difficult to follow any ball inwards and the athlete will,for example, tend to be precarious to quick balls coming directly against him and might close his eyes.

The ability to aim properly at all visual directions
If the athlete aims, for example. too much to the left, he will tend to shoot too far to the left and might be unsure of himself, when he has to shoot in this direction.

Tendency of a weak side
If all the tests of distance estimation shows impaired ability to judge distances properly in either the right or the left side, there may be a direct weak side,where the athlete often makes and repeats mistakes.

Visual acuity
Is tested using the phoroptor
Is vision sharp or is it possibly. reduced due to myopia / hypermetropia or astigmatism. In addition, the vision is tested in reading / screen distance.

Overview / split vision
Is tested using the Wayne Saccadic Fixator
If the athlete does not control his field of vision , it will be difficult to take in the field,the players /the opponents and the ball and to place himself entirely correct.
vision is quite optimal, it has no great importance, but if the left eye is not completely optimized,it displaces the distance estimation. In a sport like archery, it is best to have the same dominant eye and hand, ie. the aiming eye is right eye and the dominant hand is right (or equally-dominant in the left side).

Concentration - endurance
Is tested using the phoroptor
Stamina reserves in the eyes are used to create focus even when, the body is tired or the athlete faces tough physical and mental pressure. If the stamina reserves are not fully optimal, it will be difficult to maintain concentration and focus throughout the game / match, like it would be too easy to become distracted.

Adaptability
Is tested using the phoroptor
Adaptability - accommodation is a measurement of,how quickly and accurately the athlete is to convert his vision from one distance to another. If adaptability is not completely perfect, it would take too long time to focus clearly, when the focus is changed from e.g. a distance near by to another at a long distance.

Visualization Ability
Is tested using Harrys Blocks
In sports as golf, archery, etc., it is important to visualize, so that the athlete can "see himself make the perfect shot." If visualization ability is not optimal, it will be hard to see yourself and even harder to see yourself make the perfect shot.

Balance related to vision
Is tested using balance bar, rotating chair, extended Rombergs test .
The sight is a big part of the overall balance. In tests of the balance includes the test of the total balance, when vision is excluded in order to get an idea of, how the athlete uses the other components of the balance : sense of touch (primarily under the feet), muscle joint sense and labyrinth sense / vestibular sense.

The "provoked balance" - the labyrinth sense / the vestibular sense, which is related directly to eye movements, is also tested.If this part of the balance is not functioning optimally,the athelete will have a hard time maintaining focus after any rotation, as a reduced "provoked balance" can cause problems with getting the body into balance in the "extreme positions", and correcting the body after a possible tackle.

Co-ordination related to vision
Is tested using the teeter board and in combination with Wayne Saccadic Fixator.
If the athlete has a poor body co-ordination, which might be best on the right side,where the left side of the body is not used optimally, this condition usually affects eye co-ordination. If the athlete does not co-ordinate good enough, it will be difficult to make the body "obey", move smoothly and have full control of eye co-ordination.

About TrainYourEyes
TrainYourEyes is a Danish company, that has systematized knowledge and work with binocular vision, balance and co-ordination. The company specializes in sports vision at the elite level, and with tests of more than 1000 elite athletes , has great experience in doing this. TrainYourEyes has carried out tests in handball, soccer, ice hockey, golf, archery, badminton, tennis, athletics, gymnastics, table tennis and swimming.

When a test is made in one of the above sports ,the test data are compared to the existing test results. A new sport , with specific visual requirements , is investigated through interviews of athletes / coaches, and by observing the sport closely for the purpose of special visual requirements.

Then the TrainYourEyes test is adjusted to the visual requirements , the individual athletes have, which is a prerequisite for creating an optimal testing and subsequent training.

Time and prices
If an entire team is tested simultaneously, the test takes 2-3 hours. There will be 6-10 Optometrists available.The number of optometrists is adjusted to the number of test subjects, and the price includes an individual report to the athlete and to the coach (s), summary table and review of the individual athlete's good / weak sides to the coach and possibly for each athlete. In addition, any proposal for the training of individual athletes, as well as any general exercises ,which can load the regular physical training.

Test Rank
TrainYourEyes test can be performed at a center, or an optical business with specially trained and authorized optometrists. TrainYourEyes has collaboration with 50 special-optic outlets distributed all over Denmark and with 50 in Norway, in Germany and in USA. Therefore, the test locations can be planned ,as you want.

Training
After the analysis and report of individual athletes , the optimum individual training program is calculated. The athlete must train every day for 3x5 minutes in 2-4 months, depending on the extent of optimization. In addition, the athlete has to be controlled by a qualified optometrist, about every 2 weeks.The training program will be adjusted in accordance to the results and expectations for future performance. After training, it is not necessary with anymore training ,the binocular vision remains optimal, since it is not just muscle training, but an optimization of the way of perceiving and calculating, for example, distances.

Monitoring of training
Part of the training takes place on the Internet. The trainer (s) can access a closed system and thus follow the training of athlete in terms of exact time of the training, the intensity of it, and the results. This enables the training to be followed,without the traianer having to be physically present.

Thoroughly tested, and sure training
Optimization of visual components in the TrainYourEyes concept is a thoroughly tested training form,built on the training principles from the United States. Moreover, there are between several of the individual training excercises, physical padlocks, that are opened, when the previous level is passed correctly. This prevents incorrect and inappropriate training. The training is also supervised on the Internet by the competent optometrist, who then will guide the athlete, whose training is not carried out optimally.
